Nobleman #2

Although I am still making profit from my farms in eastern England and off of my other lands from rent, factories, and more, there are still large issues facing meet at this current moment. The middle class keeps on growing, trying to minimise the power of the wealthy as much as possible. The government is creating more and more reforms which is helping the workers get shorter hours and higher pay, pressuring the nobility. I cannot stand any more of these reforms. Do I care about the satisfaction of my labour workers? No! If they want to receive money to support themselves, then they have to put in the adequate work to earn the money.
Recently, more people have began to support socialism, the idea that production of society is publicly owned and is run for all of the citizens in its nation. Socialism in fact began about 100 years earlier with utilitarianism, created by an Englishman Jeremy Bentham, who thought the government should help it people as much as possible. In the 19th century, John Stuart Mill expands utilitarianism who argued for equal pay for all workers and the removal of levels of wealth. This is an awful idea because the nobles are obviously more intelligent and work harder than the filthy peasants.
Since socialism is encouraging equality for all people and social justice, I am strictly against this radical movement. Not all people are born equal, as some people, such as I, are born into a wealthy family. My father Washington Sanders was a nobleman and so are my two brothers William and Colonel. On the other hand, others live there life working in cheap labour in factories. Charles Fourier, Saint-Simon, and other radical reformers must stop advocating for equality of all citizens, because it can never be done. Furthermore, the government should not have power to plan the economy and factories! The wealthy and factory owners should have the right to control their own factories, mines, and railroads, as they are the one who own the property, not the government.
Even though Fourier and Saint-Simon's ideas on society are already gruesome, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels and The Communist Manifesto is going way too far! The pamphlet mentions that workers have to stand up to the factory owners, which in my opinion will always lead to failure for the workers, who have no genuine power. Noblemen do not listen to the proletariats and do not care about their ideas. The pamphlet's idea on communism is a terrible idea, because all businesses, land, factories, railroads, and mines are owned by the people and everything is shared equally. Why should a proletariat working easy labour in a factory have the equal share of a factory owner who keeps the factory open and manages the factory? The basic idea of The Communist Manifesto, that the people control society, is very unstable and difficult, and has failed to become successful before in history. The French Revolution and other major revolts in Europe resulted in chaos. France itself had multiple emperors and kings after the revolution, which tried to remove the monarchy!
There will never be a long-lasting, perfect utopia on Earth! I will give one guinea for whoever can successfully create a utopia and make it last for 100 years.

    1. As a nobleman, I do not want nor need a perfect utopia on Earth, unlike the peasants or the middle class, who would happily accept a perfect utopia. One guinea should be able to satisfy their needs, whoever creates a utopia, as in a utopia everyone only takes what they needs and so money should not matter as much.
