The Industrial Revolution dramatically changed European society—socially, politically, and economically. New technologies like the telephone, railroad, and light bulb, for example, changed the way Europeans lived and worked. We are going to try and instill some of that appreciation for technology by combining current day technology with historical information by using a BLOG.

Lawyer 2
Hello, its me the lawyer again. Previously I was neutral towards the Industrial Revolution, because it did not affect me. Now that the Industrial Revolution is going full steam, things are getting bad. The pollution is the worst part. Since there is so much coal being burned, tons of carbon have gotten into the air and are creating a thick and heavy smog that we have to breathe in. They are even naming London- type Smog after our great city that it started in. Not only is the air filled with coal, but the streets and buildings also begin to get a thin layer of coal dust all over. Everything is just awful. I have money and I have a good life, but it sickens me to see my once beautiful city turn into the desolate land that it now is. Not just physically, but socially as well. Since when do children work. As a child I was lucky enough to be in a good school thanks to my fathers wealth and class. Why though are children being sent to work long hours in factories? Obviously they are cheap to hire and they can do some jobs adults cannot, but we are breaking the children. When these children grow into adults they will not be able to put their kids in school and those kids will have to end up working in the factories as well. And so on, and so on. That is unless we do something about it.

Who cares if the children work? They are cheap, and I don't think anything needs to be done. If you have wealth, then you should just be happy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. All children should have the right to a QUALITY education, and not subject to having to work in factories with horrid conditions.
