The Industrial Revolution dramatically changed European society—socially, politically, and economically. New technologies like the telephone, railroad, and light bulb, for example, changed the way Europeans lived and worked. We are going to try and instill some of that appreciation for technology by combining current day technology with historical information by using a BLOG.

General Store Owner #2
Hello everybody. Life is going very well. I support the Industrial Revolution to the fullest and I don't care about the dirt in the streets. With the revolution expanding I get way more business and I have begun plans to buy a factory of my own. the plan is to use the vast wealth that I have collected to buy a factory and hire workers and then sell all of the goods I produce. This would double my profits and I wouldn't have to pay anybody for my goods that I sell. I've started to plan t the seeds of enacting this plan. To begin it makes more since to buy a factory from an existing owner instead of building one from scratch. I've set my sights on five potential factories. Also I've convinced my uncle and cousins to open up general stores under my name all over Britain. This wouldn't be possible though if industrialization wasn't spreading. There wouldn't be enough goods being made without industrialization for me to spread out across an entire country. Industrialization has quickly spread though and now I have a massive empire. There is an obstacle that is starting to get in the way though, socialism. People are demanding more and more rights and it looks as if child labor is going to be abolished. I don't support child labor but I do condone it because it is so profitable. I feel good that it will be gone but I can't help but think about all the money I will lose. Maybe it won't happen though, who knows.

Since there are so many adults in the streets, why don't you have them work for you?
ReplyDeleteI agree with your stance on socialism, as I do not support this large socialism movement. People have to accept that not everyone deserves and haves the same rights as others! I do not care about the child labour conditions, but do not want child labour to go away.
ReplyDeleteYour Ideas seem far fetched, you may be considering buying a factory, but who would sell if the factory owners are making so much money
