Carpenter Entry #2

As this so called "revolution" of  industrializing has progressed, as it seems in stages, so has my reaction. The first stage was an obliviousness to the effects that these changes would have on me, seeing that i was not an entrepreneur nor a farmer. I thought this would be a minor change that would be easily accommodated for. As time passed, i started realizing that the new factories and ideas and inventions would have a large impact on me as well, positive and negative. Though the negative was that it began to drive me out of business, the positive was that there were inventions that applied to my craft, making my job far easier. Time continued to pass and the negative effects were enraging me. As the rage started, i  thought that it would just stay bottled up inside me, but that changed. The news told of a group rebelling against these machines and factories. My hopes were  aroused for a renewed business and I sough out a member of this group, who happened to be one of my clients. I immediately joined in to try to end this movement to destroy the common hardworking man. However, this turned sour quickly. I had not realized, in my quick reading of the news, that the police and in some cases, the army opposed and were trying to stop this group. Just as quickly as they arose, my hopes fell with the fact that for my safety i would have to disassociate myself with this group, seemingly my only hope.

Then came Marx and Engels. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels inspired me to, as  a member of the working class, to subscribe to communism. In a communistic society, I could be equal to the business owners and make he same amount of money as them. I would not need to even try to keep my business alive, as the government would provide a business for me to work in.

With aid from this, riots and strikes occurred in factories. Whenever one took place, my shop  got customers. So it seems, in more ways than one, the new communist ideas had benefited me, and will benefit me greatly, if the government adapts and conforms to this brilliant idea.

  1. The violence from riots and strikes is not good. How could communism and these silly unions be good for people? They are harmful not helpful!
